SINOPSIS :

This book entitled As An Introduction to Linguistics for Language Teaching aims to explain basic linguistics are used in language learning. It studies how human beings communicate to convey messages to others. Then, this book also explains how the study of sounds through phonology, and how words formed to sentences. After that, it explains how the sentences has its meaning via Semantics, the study of meaning and extended, then related to certain context according to speaker’s meaning studied in Pragmatics. Then it is developed with other knowledge about how language is used in society. And then language is connected with psychology which is called psycholinguistics.  This book also explains about discourse, and the relationship between discourse and systemic functional linguistics. The last is the history of linguistics and linguistics in the millennium era.
